Is the Cladding Crisis Over?

In one word? No, the cladding crisis will be here for a while yet.

But the Government would like you to believe that it is now has a plan to solve the cladding problems faced by millions of residents.

The BBC have announced that homeowners in England are to get 15 years to legally challenge building work instead of the usual 6 years. Considering the magnitude of this policy change, and its legal ramnifications, there has been very little said since the interview – now three days ago.

Nobody knows if or when these legal changes will be implemented, and for many a nine year extension is pointless (and painful for those properties who will just exceed it before it gets signed into law). It seems like a half baked measure to push blame onto the private sector, when they were in many cases just following Government regulations.
